Abstract:

The very crux of the #MeToo movement is speaking out, which stemmed out of broken shackles of age-old culture of silencing. This paper would try to understand how silencing works in this context and what the movement has done to affect so and how. The paper would further analyze the motto of this social media movement while trying to critically unfold the complex connections silencing and power, this paper would simultaneously attempt to understand the development of the movement over time and its drawbacks.
